BWCAD₂ builds on the already successfully established Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery (TüCAD₂) and expands its concept to the whole of Baden-Württemberg. The aim of the project is to support basic researchers in creating a successful spin-off. For this purpose, interfaces will be created and staffed within the framework of the project. To raise awareness amongst researchers BWCAD₂ will be presented to medical research institutions all over Baden-Württemberg in roll-out events. After selecting promising new therapeutic concepts, the researchers involved will be coached and prepared for a pitch to industrial partners.

BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg’s task is to organise two 'Pitch Days' where participants will present their therapeutic approach to venture capitalists and representatives of leading research-based pharmaceutical companies in order to raise funds for translating research into practice.
